Seedance pricing: BytePlus vs fal.ai vs plans

How Seedance is billed

BytePlus ModelArk charges per token, not per second. Tokens equal (input seconds plus output seconds) times width times height times frame rate, divided by 1,024. A higher resolution means more tokens per second, so the price per second rises with pixels. The per-token rates are:

• Seedance 2.0: $7.00 per million tokens online, $7.70 if you supply an input video. Offline inference at 1080p is $4.00 per million.
• Seedance 2.0 Fast: $5.60 per million. Mini: $3.50 per million. Neither supports 1080p or 4K.
• Seedance 2.5: $10.70 per million, $11.70 with video input. 4K and offline inference are not supported.
• Seedance 1.0 Pro: $2.50 per million online; Pro Fast: $1.00 per million.

The per-second prices in the table are BytePlus's own 5-second, 16:9 examples divided by 5, so they are derived. Input video both raises the token price and adds the input seconds to the bill. Draft mode on 2.5 is fixed at 480p at the same token rate.

Seedance price per second on BytePlus

Resolution ladder for Seedance 2.0: $0.07/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) at 480p, $0.15/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) at 720p, $0.37/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) at 1080p and $0.78/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) at 4K. Seedance 2.5 costs $0.103/s (checked Nov 5, 2026), $0.231/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) and $0.569/s (checked Nov 5, 2026). The cheapest listed Seedance is 1.0 Pro Fast at 480p, $0.01/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) (the 720p and 1080p rows for Pro Fast are derived from Pro's token counts, not listed in a BytePlus table).

Audio is not stated on BytePlus's price page. fal.ai and Luma list native audio for Seedance 2.0.

fal.ai and the US endpoint

fal.ai bills $0.014 per 1,000 tokens for Seedance 2.0 at 480p to 1080p, which is $0.303/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) at 720p and $0.682/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) at 1080p. Fast is $0.242/s (checked Nov 5, 2026). For Seedance 2.5 fal sells a US regional endpoint at $0.473/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) at 720p, more than double BytePlus direct. Seedance inside Runway and Luma plans

Both apps resell Seedance, charged in their credits. These tables convert credits to dollars at each plan's credit value, assuming you use every credit.

Runway's API table also lists Seedance 2.0 at about $0.30 per second, which is the same as fal. Luma charges per second: 2.0 is 51 credits at 720p, 2.5 is 78 credits at 720p and 191 at 1080p. Check each app's table for the 480p or Fast options before you plan.

Worked example: one 8-second clip

At 720p on BytePlus, 8 s times $0.15/s is about $1.20 for Seedance 2.0, and 8 s times $0.231/s is about $1.85 for 2.5. At 1080p, Seedance 2.0 is about $2.96 and 2.5 about $4.55. On fal.ai, Seedance 2.0 at 720p with audio is about $2.43.

Worked example: a 30-second finished video

Four 8-second clips make 32 seconds. At an assumed 50% keeper rate you generate eight, which is 64 seconds of output. Change the rate in the calculator.

API or plan?

The plan route buys convenience and a bundle of other models. The API route is cheaper per second and exposes 480p and Fast options that apps may hide. The break-even depends on the plan. Compare at the same resolution, and note that Runway and Luma list 1080p, which is about five times the 480p price on BytePlus.
