Timeline

Newest first. Events dated in the future are scheduled changes, for example a promo ending. Each entry links to the page it was read from and shows the date it was read.

Timeline of 18 dated events from 8 September 2025 to 30 November 2026 in five lanes: launches, price changes, shut downs, promos and other; the biggest changes for buyers are the Sora API shutdown on 24 September 2026 and the Veo 3.1 Gemini API preview shutdown on 22 October 2026
Every dated event in the ClipCost history, 3 of them price changes, placed on one axis by the date it took effect; numbers match the list under the chart. Only changes found on a vendor page are recorded, so a quiet lane does not prove that nothing changed. Details and sources are in the list below. Data: ClipCost price history.

What the timeline shows

What is not here

Many 2025 and 2026 price moves for Kling, Runway, Luma, Hailuo and Pika have no primary page with a date, so they are omitted rather than reconstructed from memory. Some current changes are known only as a before-and-after state without a date. One example: the Gemini API price for Veo 3.1 Fast moved from $0.15 per second to $0.10 at 720p with audio, and Google's changelog does not give the date. Runway's plan ladder also changed from an Unlimited plan to Free, Standard, Pro and Max.

If you track a change that has a primary source, the methodology page explains how corrections are handled.

How history is recorded

Each weekly check compares the new price with the stored one. A changed price becomes a dated event with the old value, the new value and the source. Promotions are logged with their start and end dates, and an end date creates a scheduled event. The full list is also available as open data: history.json.

Questions people ask

Have AI video prices gone up or down?

In the sourced record, list prices for the first-party Veo models fell in September 2025, and the newest budget tiers (for example Veo 3.1 Lite and the Grok Imagine Lite tier) are priced well below earlier flagship models. Not every provider has a sourced history, so no general trend claim is made here.

Where can I see the prices before a change?

The old and new values are shown in the timeline entry. Shut down models also stay in the price table when you tick the status filter, with their last listed price.

Why is there a future-dated entry?

Promotions and scheduled price returns have end dates. They are logged in advance so you can see when a discounted price stops.
