Flow credit cost per generation

Google publishes a credit table for Flow. One credit is not a fixed amount of money; its value is the plan price divided by the plan's monthly credits. The prices below are derived from that formula and from the cheapest plan that lists a price for the model.

Credits are charged per generation, and one request can produce two videos. Check the count shown before you press generate, because two outputs are two generations.

What a credit costs on each plan

The credit value is the plan price divided by its monthly credits: Plus is the most expensive per credit, Pro sits in the middle, and the Ultra tiers are the cheapest. Annual prices are not shown on the US plan page, so every figure is monthly billing. For the other tiers, change the model in the same table to Lite or Quality.

Plan credits reset at each billing cycle and do not roll over. The table assumes you use every credit. A light user who spends half pays double the listed credit value.

50 free credits a day

All accounts receive 50 Flow credits a day. They reset after your first generation and do not roll over. That is 2 Fast clips or 5 Lite clips a day. Google also states that, without a subscription, video generation can be blocked for a few hours around 14:00 to 17:00 UTC. Whether the free daily credits can be spent on Gemini Omni Flash was not confirmed on the pages read, so check Flow before you rely on it. Always generate 8 seconds

Flow credits do not depend on clip length for Veo 3.1 Lite and Fast: 4, 6 and 8 seconds cost the same. An 8-second clip costs the same as a 4-second one, so the price per second is halved at 8 seconds. The only reason to pick a shorter length is a creative one. Upscaling to 1080p costs 0 credits for subscribers, according to Google.

Worked example: one 8-second clip

For a single 8-second Veo 3.1 Fast attempt the credits are fixed at 20, so the cost is 20 times the credit value. With $0.05/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) on Pro, one attempt is $0.40 and one on Lite is $0.20. On Plus, with credits worth more, the Fast attempt is about $0.50. On the $100 Ultra tier, Fast costs 10 credits and about $0.10.

Worked example: a 30-second finished video

You need four 8-second clips. At an assumed 50% keeper rate that is eight attempts. The keeper rate is an assumption you should replace with your own, in the cost calculator.

Dollar values on Pro: about $1.60 for Lite, $3.20 for Fast and $16.00 for Quality. Compare with the API cost of the same job on Veo 3.1 pricing: Fast on Vertex is $0.10/s (checked Nov 5, 2026) with audio at 720p.

Plan or API?

A Flow plan is cheaper per clip than the API for Lite and Fast if you actually use the credits. The API has no monthly fee, so it is cheaper if you generate only a handful of clips a month, or if you need to call it from code or generate in 4K. On Pro, 1,000 credits are about 100 Lite clips, 50 Fast clips or 10 Quality clips, a comparison that holds only if you spend the whole month's credits.
